Along the way we experience the primordial beauty of the physical world. This is nature as we all feel in our hearts it must once have been. The textural quality and luminous colors in the illustrations capture the feeling of a late fall journey on foot through the forest and then over the water by canoe to a place untouched by other people, and finally the magic of waking to a new season in a snowy grove of maple trees.
